PUPPY RAISING and PUPPY SITTING  REQUIREMENTS FOR PAWS GROUP (GUIDE DOGS FOR THE BLIND)

 

 

Attend 3 consecutive puppy-raising meetings and 1 outing

 

Read puppy raising manual

 

Fill out puppy raising application

 

Attend Guide Dog Graduation at the Boring Campus

 

Fence and house check by PAWS leaders

 

Demonstrate appropriate (guide dog approved) puppy handling skills in the puppy raising meetings

 

Agree to attend 80% meeting/outings in 6-month period

 

Puppy sit a younger and older pup at least 4 times before receiving one of your own

 

Agree to follow GDB protocol as outlined in the GDB manual and the PAWS leaders

 

Puppy trade with other raisers every 2 months for 1 night or more
